Responsibilities

The Opportunity:

To be at the forefront of driving our Emerging Technology Strategy (ETS) for KMS Technology, aiming to establish one or more emerging technologies as common practices or company standards.
To work alongside like-minded technologists to build a community that are equally passionate about technology and innovation, and committed to maturing our capability to deliver solutions and build products leveraging emerging technologies.
To open doors for employees to learn about the benefits of a specific technology, including platforms, software tools, and applications.
To inspire others to grow their knowledge and skills around emerging technology, and identify or develop necessary training frameworks to build foundational skills

Past Experience:

Success in this role will require deep technical/engineering roots. Most likely an ex-software engineer, growing through the ranks of application or platform development or R&D or possibly an enterprise/solution architect.
10+ years experience in the technology field as a Software Developer, Software Architect, Solution Architect, across multiple technologies
Recognized as a thought leader and influential communicator, either through social media platforms, internal content development, or conference presentations
[Plus] Research and Development work in an emerging technology field, resulting in a white paper or recommendation that received approval and funding for a production application

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the Emerging Technology Group (ETG) which includes virtual representation of technical leaders across all KMS Technology companies
Define the Emerging Technology Strategy (ETS) for KMS Technology
Provide leadership in technology research, innovation, and demonstration of concept development efforts
Work with internal and external technical resources to bring the latest knowledge and concepts to our teams
Design and Lead innovation workshops as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree (Business, Design, Science, Technology, Math, Engineering)
Familiarity with a diverse set of emerging technology areas including Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics
4+ years of driving strategy, discovery, and definition of innovative solutions that align with business needs, market opportunities, and customer needs
Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
Passion for learning and helping teams capitalize on emerging technology
Possess an executive presence with strong communication, thought leadership, presentation and storytelling skills
Strong verbal and written skills including strong cross-cultural communication and the ability to draft effective communications
Self-motivated and proactive with proven creative, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
Organized and able to self-task, adapt, run meetings and track progress on multiple tasks at once.
Technical team leadership, and experienced working in virtual teams (collaboration tools, timezone management)
